Wind strengths and sea swell: sailboats dance on the water, being on the move, experiencing the elements... Since I live on the Flensburg Fjord | Baltic Sea, I love to find inspiration for motifs like this on walks. For this work, I mixed blue, white, brown, and sienna shades on my palette, complemented by invigorating orange as well as a few yellow accents. The stormy character is emphasized by the portrait format and the individual painting technique, which is very diverse: there are many details, sometimes strong contrasts, sometimes gentle color transitions, and both vertical accents and brushstrokes in all directions.
Shortly after the release of Stormy Sailing XS 2, the small sailing painting made it into the newsletter of the French art marketplace artsper in early July 2025. I'm delighted, many thanks to the artsper team!
